Khao Ko Pu

Khao Ko Pu is the hill that occupies the northern end of the island shared by Koh Jum and Koh Pu, rising steeply to a little under four hundred metres. It is substantial enough that the island is often treated as two: the flat, settled south known as Koh Jum, and the mountainous north as Koh Pu.

The peak is covered in evergreen forest and is home to macaques, hornbills and monitor lizards. A rough trail climbs from the village on the eastern side to a viewpoint near the summit, taking two to three hours up through the trees; there is no infrastructure on the route and it is usually walked with a local guide.

From the sea the hill is the island's identifying feature, visible from the Krabi coast and from the Lanta ferry route.
