It is now so easy to travel via Bus/Ferry package from Bangkok to Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao with us at FerrySamui.com. The trip involves a bus transfer from Bangkok to one of the piers in either Surat Thani (Samui or Koh Phangan) or Chumphon (for Koh Tao) where you will then be guided to your ferry by the ferry company staff. Each bus is going to be safe and comfortable with air conditioning and probably nice Thai music overhead! Seats are fairly large and reclinable (though not in every bus). Simply sit back, relax with a snack or two and enjoy the scenery because it will be an enjoyable ride. Once you have boarded the ferry, you have choices of seating - up on deck in the fresh air and sun or down below in a comfortable inside chair where you can look out of the window to see amazing seascapes complete with all the rock structures jutting out of the Gulf of Thailand sea. Don't forget to print a copy of our Travel Tips so that you can make the most of your journey. Each ferry is regularly safety checked by the Thai Navy and FerrySamui.com often does random boat inspections on your behalf. They carry all the necessary safety equipment and life vests. Just make sure that you pack your binoculars and sunscreen, you are on your way to amazing places!
The big city of Bangkok is a world favorite tourist destination that's been voted "World's Best City" for three years running by Travel & Leisure Magazine. Bangkok is cited as the world's third most visited city after London and New York, and its third in terms of international tourist spending. Those right there are some statistics! There's loads to see and do in Bangkok, and the culture is so unique that the city long lives in the memory. From the grand royal palaces and golden temples, to the busy morning floating markets, to the elegant Chao Phrayah river cruises, there is just so much that is different to "life back home" for many folks. Yes, Bangkok is truly worth a visit - again and again!
City Culture
Bangkok culture is a whole lot different to that which you will find in the beach resort locations. There is a busy, business-like atmosphere associated with the city that filters into the 'land of smiles' character that Thailand is well known for. In Bangkok, you'll find many fascinating contrasts; small street vendors right up next to the major department stores, friends joyfully relaxing-socializing in downtown restaurants right alongside streets of scurrying road/rail commuters, men in suits and beggars in rags. It's all wrapped up in that which is 'life in the City of Angels'.
Market Culture
Without doubt the most amazing Bangkok market is Chatuchak Weekend Market in the Mo Chit district that's conveniently located on the MRT rail system. It is an absolute web of over 5,000 market stalls that covers around 35 acres, with stalls that are selling everything from household items to collectibles, music, artwork, pets, and all kinds of delicious food. Other amazing Bangkok markets include the Sampeng Market on Yaowarat Road in Chinatown, and Pratunam Market with it's splendid array of great clothing on display.
