Siriraj Medical Museum

The Siriraj Medical Museum is a group of teaching collections inside Siriraj Hospital, Thailand's oldest, on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River. Several museums share the complex: anatomy, pathology, parasitology, the history of Thai medicine, and the forensic collection that gives the place its reputation.

The forensic and pathology rooms are explicit — preserved specimens, evidence from criminal cases, and material on causes of death — and they are not intended as entertainment. Visitors who are uneasy with human remains should know that before going; those interested in medicine and forensic science will find few collections of this depth open to the public anywhere.

The hospital sits by the river near Wang Lang, an easy cross-river hop from the Grand Palace side of Bangkok.
