Sai Kaew Beach, Koh Yao Noi
Sai Kaew is on the east coast of Koh Yao Noi, facing out across Phang Nga Bay toward the limestone towers that fill the horizon. That view is the reason to come to this island at all.
The beach is quiet and the water very shallow, retreating a long way at low tide and leaving flats where villagers collect shellfish. It is a place to look at rather than to swim.
Koh Yao Noi is a Muslim island of rubber plantations and fishing villages sitting between Phuket and Krabi. It has almost no nightlife and expects modest dress away from the beach.
