Bang Bao Fishing Village, Koh Chang

Bang Bao sits at the southern end of Koh Chang: a fishing village built on stilts along a single long pier running out into the bay, with the houses, shops and seafood restaurants all standing over the water.

It is a working harbour as much as an attraction, and it is the departure point for boats to Koh Wai, Koh Mak and Koh Kood, as well as for the island's dive and snorkelling trips.

The pier is long and mostly unshaded, and the restaurants at the far end are where people eat looking straight down into the water.
