Kai Bae Beach, Koh Chang
Kai Bae lies south of Klong Prao on Koh Chang's west coast. It is narrower than the beaches to the north and rockier in places, but it has something they lack: a scatter of small islands just offshore, close enough to kayak to.
Those islets - Koh Man Nai among them - are what make the sunsets here the ones people talk about. Kayaks are hired along the beach and the crossing is short in calm weather.
The village behind has restaurants and shops without the density of White Sand. The beach can almost disappear at high tide in places.
