Hua Hin Railway Station
Hua Hin railway station is the prettiest in the country and one of the oldest, dating from the reign of Rama VI. The building is painted red and cream in Thai royal style, with fretwork and a tiled roof.
Beside it stands the royal waiting room, a teak pavilion moved here from Sanam Chan Palace in Nakhon Pathom and reassembled - it was built for the king to wait for his train, and it is why the station looks like this.
Trains still run, and the station is in ordinary daily use. It is a short walk from the town centre and free to look around.
