Khao Takiab - Chopstick Hill - closes the southern end of Hua Hin beach. A road and a stairway climb to a temple on top, with views back along the whole bay.
A tall standing Buddha faces the sea at the foot of the hill, and the temple grounds above hold shrines and a Chinese pavilion. The hill's other name is Monkey Mountain, for the macaques that live on it.
The monkeys are bold and will take food, bags and sunglasses. Do not feed them and do not carry food openly. It is an active temple: cover shoulders and knees.
