Pattaya City Viewpoint
The Pattaya City Viewpoint occupies the shoulder of Khao Phra Tamnak, the hill between Pattaya and Jomtien, and gives the view that defines the city: the whole crescent of Pattaya Bay from the headland at one end to the high-rises at the other, with the fishing boats and ferries working the water in between.
The terrace is open and free, with the illuminated Pattaya City sign that most visitors photograph. It is at its best at the end of the day, when the bay is lit and the light is off the water.
On the same hill, a short distance up, stands Wat Phra Yai with its large golden seated Buddha - the two are usually visited together, and the road continues over the hill down to Jomtien.
