Thai Hua Museum
The Thai Hua Museum occupies the former Thai Hua school on Krabi Road, in the heart of Phuket Old Town. The school was founded by the island's Chinese community to teach the children of migrant families, and the building it moved into — white, colonnaded and symmetrical — is one of the most photographed pieces of Sino-Portuguese architecture in Phuket.
The galleries inside cover how Chinese migration shaped the island: the tin-mining era that drew families south, the founding of the school, Phuket's Baba-Nyonya wedding customs and dress, local food, and the Vegetarian Festival. Photographs, documents and everyday objects carry most of the story, with English labelling throughout.
It is a short walk from Thalang Road, so it combines naturally with a wander through the old quarter.
