Ao Taphao Beach, Koh Kood
Ao Taphao is the bay immediately north of Khlong Chao on Koh Kood's west coast, a gentle curve of sand with shallow, protected water and a handful of resorts set back among the trees.
It faces west like the rest of this coast, so the sunsets are direct, and the water stays calm enough for easy swimming through most of the dry season.
It is a short ride from Khlong Chao and shares its quiet - Koh Kood has very little traffic and few places to go after dark.
