Koh Adang Viewpoint (Chado Cliff)
Koh Adang rises steeply out of the water a kilometre north of Koh Lipe: a granite island of dense forest inside Tarutao National Marine Park, almost uninhabited apart from the park station and a campsite on its southern beach.
The path up to Chado Cliff starts behind that beach and climbs hard through the trees. It is short but genuinely steep, with rope and root sections, and takes most people twenty to thirty minutes. The reward is the view that appears at the top: Koh Lipe laid out below across the strait, with the reef shallows showing pale green against deeper water. There are further lookouts above the first.
Longtails cross from Lipe's Sunrise Beach in a few minutes and will wait or return at an agreed time. Take water and shoes with grip - the descent is harder than the climb.
