Sai Nuan Beach, Koh Tao
Sai Nuan is a pair of small beaches on Koh Tao's west coast, south of Mae Haad and reached along a coastal path rather than a road. The walk is the reason they stay empty: perhaps twenty to thirty minutes from the pier, over headlands and past palms leaning out across the sand.
The water is calm and shallow, the snorkelling off the rocks at the ends is decent, and there are one or two simple bungalow places and a beach bar. Being west-facing, both beaches get the sunset.
The path is uneven in places and unlit, so returning after dark needs a torch.
