Sairee Viewpoint
Sairee is the longest beach on Koh Tao and the centre of island life, running up the west coast in a single curve of sand, dive shops and bars. The viewpoint on the hillside above it takes in that whole sweep at once, with Koh Nang Yuan off the northern end.
Because the coast faces west, this is the sunset side of the island, and the lookout fills up in the last hour of daylight. The track up is short but steep and unlit, so a torch is worth carrying for the walk back down.
